8”inch rotary index table new, $120, Barrie, ON

The one I bought from Busy Bee so many years ago I had to return because the center bore instead of being tapered as advertised was straight. I'd look out for that. Could be why its going so cheap.

Good work can be done with a straight bore, especially for 'hobby tolerances'... $120 - is a good price.
Yes. It's a good price. I bought mine because I wanted the Morse taper.

Note how there appears to be something clamped in the jaws of the chuck. With the mounting bolts to the T-Nuts loose I can tighten firmly on this piece.

And this is what it looks like when it's not inside the rotary indexer and chuck. It was turned between centres so the taper is concentric with the non-tapered part.

When clamped into the chuck I can then tighten on the T-Nuts and know that the chuck is centred on the rotary table. Before the chuck is lowered over this piece I can also use the probe to set the centre line as X,Y==0,0 although that could also be done with the hole it goes into.

I'm sure a carefully turned shaft that fits in a non-tapered hole would work too but as shown by the surface finish I wasn't (and still aren't) the best machinist.

Well done!

Mine has an MT3 center too.

I did something similar to center parts on the Table. But I should have added the long straight section that you have for centering a chuck. Didn't know about that when I made mine. Still lernin!

I think at the time I didn't have the South Bend 10L so used the ELS to cut the taper. That's one reason why the surface is so rough. Gingery Lathe has way too much flex and vibration. Once I got the SB I just never got back to improving the Gingery.

Here's how I think I'll run the tubing from the compressor. Excuse the rather poor hand drawing.
