I bought a 20x Carson mini microscope - more like a loupe. $26. It’s a cool little tool. It has a nice clip to attach it to your phone.a nice touch is the image is right side up.

1mm spacing rules on the calliper, the 140mm numbers.looking at my phone screen the spacing between the 1mm marks is 26mm. So 26x times zoom. the Carson claims 20x and the optical zoom on the phone is 4x. Below is a 1mm drill bit tip.

Lasered lettering on knife. Zooms to the dot in the middle of X. I think the laser beam is about a .001” wide. 25 microns?

Neat. I've got a Carson 20x scope too but it didn't come with a phone clip. I actually found the 20x too much with too little depth of field for most practical applications. It looks like you are getting better images than I get with mine.

Hmnn they will be taking away my driver license at this rate....I must be loosing it!
I'm totally wrong about my Carson miniscope, it is not 20x but rather 60-120×. I got to thinking about things and realized I was totally out to lunch. However I was right about the usefulness of the high magnification, 60 x is too much and 120x is useless with this little guy.
Sorry about the bad info. I will have a time out and consider my actions before posting again.
 
I bought a cheap USB one from amazon a while back and it's pretty good for the price. I don't have anything to really compare it to, but just playing around zooming in on tools and cutting edges is going to be very handy. Just need to figure out how to get one of the kids old firetablets to run the software and I'll dedicate it to the shop.
