As a general rule I'd say you better really know what you're looking at before you go buying a used cnc. I've bought a lot of machinery and I'm still VERY hesitant with cnc equipment since you miss one little detail and you've got a very expensive counterweight at bestIt all depends if you want it to run right away or if your hobby is rebuilding machines... From what I've seen, most CNC used machines are for sale for several not-so-good reasons 1) they are worn out 2) they're completely obsolete or broken and parts are unavailable 3) they're from a distressed company that hasn't maintained the machine properly.
There ARE good deals out there, but be prepared to walk away if something doesn't smell right.
